Ingredient Profile & Common Uses
Lysimachia christinae Hance is the botanical source associated with Lysimachiae Herba and Jin Qian Cao, using the dried whole herb as the extraction raw material. Botanical identification is commercially important because names such as Gold Coin Grass may be applied inconsistently across international ingredient markets. Scientific name, plant part, and extract identity therefore provide a more reliable sourcing definition than the common name alone.
Commercial grades follow two different specification approaches. Ratio extracts define the relationship between botanical input and finished extract, with several concentration levels available for different formulation and sourcing requirements. Standardized material instead controls a defined phytochemical group through analytical testing. Extract ratio and marker standardization describe different attributes and should not be interpreted as interchangeable measurements of ingredient strength.
The powder has a characteristic yellow-brown to brown botanical appearance and an herbal sensory profile. In water-based systems it behaves as a dispersible botanical solid rather than an inherently clear-soluble ingredient, so haze and settling should be considered during formulation. Its concentrated whole-herb format is primarily positioned for botanical supplements and other systems that can accommodate natural plant color and flavor.
